Game characteristics

Hi there Lord Z.
Not posted for quite a while.  You might remember me from the old Lordz days.

I'm very interested in this game, but at the moment I'm still playing TW-Medieval2-Kingdoms, (Empire being a great disappointment so far).  So before I commit to buying GBM I would really like to get clear in my mind just what GBM looks like.

I've read all the info I can, so far, I think, but still not fully decided what the game is really like. 
Am I right in thinking that the strategy map is hex, or more correctly "square" marked, and the gameplay turnbased? 
And do battles occur when rival armies meet on the strategy map?
And are battles real time affairs that look similar to (early?) TW games?

Yeah, I still remember you from the old days.

Please try to understand the game is nothing similar to a TW game. Do not expect a clone TW game.

It is very different. The best you can do is go to the official support forums here.

Many thanks Lord Z.  I have been looking at the forum threads you suggested.

I have to say how disapointed I am to only now learn that LOWN has been postponed indefinitely.    I was really looking forward to that, especially after the Lordz earlier grand modding efforts to give good Napoleonic games.

We still live in hope.

Well we hope to make many more games the coming years, so it is not from our wishlist, just not in the near future! But who knows. We still love the period.

In the mean time we hope to proof with our games there is more under the sun to enjoy.
