Specialist wargaming developer The Lordz Games Studio and Bloody April, 1917 designer Terry Simo are happy to announce an exclusive deal to bring the Charles S. Roberts Award winning board game Bloody April, 1917 to the digital gaming arena.

Bloody April, 1917 is a standalone game that covers the unique aspects of air combat during World War 1. The game covers the pivotal air combat over the Arras sector, France from March until the end of May 1917. Players take on the roles of Royal Flying Corps commander or German Imperial Air Service commander for their respective sides and will have a multitude of taskings available to accomplish and complete their objectives. Bloody April will include both single mission scenarios and multi-mission/multi-day campaigns to allow players to play out large scale battles in a manageable timeframe.

We are very proud that such a renowned game designer as Terry Simo entrusted us to bring this excellent multiple award winning game to the digital platforms. The WW1 arena was the birthplace of modern combat aviation and we want to honour the brave Knights of the Sky by converting this board game to a great digital experience for all wargamers to enjoy. “, said Rudolf-Tim van der Moer, CEO of The Lordz Games Studio.

Terry Simo, Bloody April, 1917 designer, said: “ Translating Bloody April to an electronic medium will allow people to fully immerse themselves into the challenges of executing airpower in its infancy during the Great War. The ability to add Fog of War will really take the board game to the next level and provide players one of the most realistic WW1 air simulations available at the Operational Level of War.

The game will go into development during the course of 2017 at The Lordz Games Studio. The complete board game, including any future expansions, will be brought to a wide variety of digital game platforms.
